The story, in 60 seconds
Loggerfish is made by one person. Felix Rief is a diver in Hamburg, Germany, and he built the logbook he wanted for himself: one that shows what years of diving add up to. Air consumption over seasons rather than per dive, the year so far against his own target, what a dive really costs once the gear, the courses and the trips are counted.
And one that never keeps a diver's logbook hostage. Logging is given away free by agencies and hardware makers, but getting your own dives back out is often hard. In Loggerfish, export to Excel and a full backup are free on every plan, for good. It is the promise the product rests on.
It reads the files other logbooks and dive apps export, so years of dives come across in a few minutes. It works on the boat with no signal, it speaks five languages, and it is independent: no agency or dive-computer maker behind it, no ads, no selling data.
