How to export your SSI logbook (MySSI) and keep your dives
Your SSI dives can leave the MySSI app as a spreadsheet. This guide shows where to find it, what is in it, and how to keep a copy you control.

Why keep your own copy
An app is a good place to log, and it should not be the only copy. Phones are lost, accounts are closed, and apps are redesigned. A spreadsheet of your dives opens in anything, for as long as you like, so it is worth making one now and again after a big trip.
Getting the spreadsheet
The MySSI logbook can be downloaded from my.DiveSSI.com as a spreadsheet, either .xlsx or .csv. The site is behind a sign-in, so this rests on an export made in September 2026 rather than on a page anyone can read, and SSI's own help pages do not describe the download. Menu names may differ from what you see.

- If you log dives in the MySSI app, sync it first so the website has every dive. SSI's FAQ puts this behind the gear icon, under settings and sync.
- Sign in at my.DiveSSI.com in a web browser, not in the app.
- Open your logbook and download it as a spreadsheet.
- Keep the file exactly as it arrives, and work on a copy.
What is in the file
A MySSI export carries one row per dive: the dive number, the site, the country, the date and time, the length, the depth, the type of dive and who verified it. Specialty dives such as wreck, ice or night dives are marked as such. It does not carry buddies, air consumption or the species you saw, because the spreadsheet has no columns for them.
Open it in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice or Google Sheets and check three things: that the number of rows matches the number of dives you expect, that the dates are real dates and not text, and that your deepest and longest dives look right.
Keeping the dives somewhere that exports
If you want your dives in a logbook that shows more than a list, Loggerfish reads the MySSI spreadsheet as it is, with no columns to match. Open the import, choose the file, and read the preview: it counts the dives that are new, the ones already in your log and the ones that differ, and nothing is saved until you press import. Importing needs no account, because the file is read on your own device.
Once the dives are in, you can export them again whenever you like, as an Excel file, as UDDF for other logbook programs, or as a full backup. All three are free on every plan. There is a step-by-step guide with screenshots and a page on exporting a MySSI logbook to Excel.
A short checklist
- Sync the app, then download the spreadsheet from the website.
- Count the rows against the dives you know you have.
- Save a dated copy somewhere that is not your phone.
- Repeat after a trip or a season, not once a decade.
